Dang Just Let the Chick Do What She Does...

Everybody is going hard on Nicki Minaj Lately. Here is my take on it. The girl can flow(DEFINETLY reminds me of Wayne lol) But she isn't the best. BUT before you bash me on THAT statement, she is only what? 2 or 3 years into the game? Can we give the girl time to grow? Kobe didnt even start his first two years in the league, he came of off the bench, airballing potential game winners might I add.<<<---You know I had to drop Kobe in here somewhere lol. But back to Nicki, no, I'm not saying that she will be the best, but give her time. I actually enjoy listening to her, and despite most other people's thoughts, I love the animated thing she does when she raps, i think its hella sexy lol. All I'm saying is give her a chance to mature. I'm not saying that you have to enjoy her music, but respect that another female is trying to join the ranks of another male-dominated genre. She isn't half bad. And she is definitely a looker!!

Take a Deeper Look

Networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter are a great way to keep up with friends and meet new people. It is an even better source of seeing inside the lives of celebrities that use these websites. When I first started using Twitter heavily, i started following an athlete that I knew a little about. I knew he was cocky, ran his mouth a lot, things like that. Little did I know, that following him on Twitter would be like following him around in real life.
Chad Ochocinco (Chad Johnson, for those who are unaware) has coined the phrase, "The Interesting One".
This is an understatement. This guys life, is so intersting, he has me hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for his next tweet. The guy is so misunderstood, and I feel like Twitter has given him a chance to let the world know what he is all about. Not to mention how entertaining he is. Chad also does a Ustream for his fans and talks with them and to them, which i think is pretty damn cool. He has even made up his own lingo consisting of "Child Please" and "Kiss the Baby". You are going to have to look up his explanations of these pharases, because he can explain them far better than I can.

So I definitely encourage everyone on Twitter to follow him http://twitter.com/OGOchoCinco and I challenge everyone to get more into these celebrities and athletes lives and hear what THEY have to say as opposed to what you may hear in the tabloids or on talk shows. These stars love thier fans, and with all of this technology, you can basically live with them, just by staring at your laptop.

Keep ya head up, like ya nose is bleedin...

I am trying to enjoy the good times right now, because I know that things are soon to get hectic. It's Homecoming week and i dont have any money to go to much of anything, but I dont really mind. As long as I can go to the game, and as long as Bethune Cookman's band shows up (such a band nerd) I'll think i will be alright. But the weeks after Homecoming, i need to start to get on my shit. I have applied to a few jobs and I am waiting to hear back on them. At this point i will take just about anything, I have never been picky. I want my own things for once, and I am tired of depending on other people. So I hope that I get hired VERY soon so that I can get things off of the ground and moving. I am soooooooo ready. But not sure as whats to come in the near future.....

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Yes. The most exciting time of the year is here. We have been waiting all year for this moment, and it is finally amongst us. The opening of the 2009-2010 NBA season!!!
There were so many moves in the offseason, which should promote a very interesting season.
So many questions to be answered. Will the Lakers repeat with the new addition of Ron Artest? Will LeBron James reign supreme again? Will Kevin Garnett come back with the inner beast and killer mentality to lead his team back to glory?
This is what makes the upcoming season so exciting. I will focus on four contenders and some predictions for the upcoming season.

  • Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics were a team last year that suffered an injury to thier best player. However, they still made it to the playoffs and into the second round, but fell to the Orlando Magic. But now at the start of the season, KG is back and ready to propel his team back to the elite of the east.
(I'm actually watching the Celtics play the Cavaliers right now, so I have a sneak peak at two of the best temas in the east going head to head)
With the addition of Rasheed Wallace, and other small peices including Marquis Daniels and Sheldon Williams, the Celtics are taking the right steps back to the path of the NBA championship. The chemistry is still there with the big three (Pierce, Allen, and Garnett) and Rondo running the show. The Celtics should make it deep into the playoffs and show that they are still a force to be reckoned with.

  • Orlando Magic
Orlando was definitely a sleeper team coming out of the east last year. Not many expected them to beat a "Garnett-less" Celtics squad. Even fewer expected them to defeat "The King"(LeBron James) and his court. But they did. Last year's Orlando team lived and died by the three point line. They had great premiter players that could spot up for the three out of what seemed like any situation. But they over used it. They seemed to have forgotten about their center, who is a pretty decent player(Yes, a hint of sarcasm), Dwight Howard. Though Howard hasn't proved his low-post game, but he is and could be a force, if Orlando decides to ever step away from the three point line.
Orlando did dump off one of their better shooters, Hedo Turkoglu, but they picked up a seasoned veteran in Vince Carter. I think in this setting, Vince has a chance to prove that he can be the powerhouse that he used to be, without having to be the number one player.
I don't think Orlando comes out of the Eastern Conference again this year, the East beefed up just to be able to handle Dwight Howard, and I dont think Dwight is ready to handle the pressure. But they still will be a contender.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers fell short of just about everyone's expectations, even mine. Remember the puppet commercials?? Ah, what a build up. But LeBron and his crew fell victim to a weak inside game against Orlando's athletic big man know as Superman, Dwight Howard. The Cavalier organization refused to again be bullied on the inside this season so they made a rather large aquisition. Four time NBA champion, Shaquille O'Neal. LeBron is entering his 7th season, and has had plenty of individual success, with Rookie of the Year, multiple All-Star MVP's, and this past season, his first League MVP award. But for the King, these fall hella short of a championship ring. With Mo Williams running the show, this time for a full season and a better understanding of the system, and the addition of Shaq, LeBron has a great chance to get what he wants. With his free agency coming up in the summer of 2010, the Cavs better hope that LeBron gets his "chocolate-chip cookie"

  • Los Angeles Lakers
Before I continue, I think that i should let it be known that I am an avid follower of the Lakers. Have been since 98' so these opinions may seem biased, but I promise you, they aren't.
The road to the 2008-2009 championship may not have been as easy as the Lakers had wanted it, but somehow they pulled all of their star power together and pulled of a spectacular run at the franchise's 15 championship. Kobe got his 4th ring, his first since the Shaq days, and Kobe finally has the critics off of his back. The Lakers are in excellent shape to repeat, even with the unloading of a big piece of the team, Trevor Ariza. While Ariza's manager was attempting to renegotiate a contract for his client, the Lakers had a player on the backside just incase negotiations got a little outrageous. They did, and the Lakers cut Ariza loose. (Time to hire a new manager if I were in Ariza's shoes...I'm just saying) The Lakers had already lured Ron Artest from the Houston Rockets, and with Ariza's mishaps, The Lakers quickly signed Artest.
With not many changes other than that, the Lakers are in great position to repeat. Artest brings his top notch defensive skills, and that helps keep Kobe fresh by him not having to gaurd the opposing teams best player night in and night out. With Kobe free to roam on defense, he will be fresh on offense. Enough said.

Predictions
  • I think KG returns to form and wins Defensive Player of the Year

  • As much as I hate to say it, but I think LeBron wins Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row

  • I think Lakers repeat as champs. Of course :-)

I love the NBA and basketball season so there will plenty of such related posts during the season.

Real Love

Damn i swear that she is the only one that understands me.
From the highs of my best days, to the lows of my worst.
She is always there.
And damn, i always miss her when I'm away, sleeping with others, wrapped up in their temporary love.
But she never trips,
When I come running back to her after the weeks, months, that I am away.
Real Love
And I even have the nerve to get jealous
When other guys try to get on her, in her, around her
Knowing good and damn well that them niggas got their own
But she doesn't mind, she actually loves the attention.
And damn I love when I'm in her
Because I'm not a gentle one by any means
And she knows i love that she stays on all fours
And she doenst mind the wild reckless nights
Cause she know after a while it will be time to settle down
and she wraps me up with her love tighter than any other can.
Real Love
Damn she is my baby my world my everything
The only one who knows me up and down
She always listens and never complains
Because she realzies that sometimes it needs to be all about me
And we spend nights and days and more time together than with anyone else
and people try their best to tear us apart
But it never works
Because we have that unbreakable, undeniable
That Real Love...

Damn I love my Bed!!!

Haha....

A complete 180

Alright, I feel like my life right now isn't going in the direction that I want it to. I mean, it's my life right? So soon, VERY soon, i'm going to grab my life by the horns and stir it in a completley different direction. I'm not changing who I am, by any means, I'm just changing the way the clock ticks, if you follow me. I'm not asking for advice, because it won't be taken. This will either work, or it won't. It's as simple as that. I'm tired of falling into attention and waiting for the whistle. I'm Head Drummajor now.

Rockin Robin

Twitter is taking the world by storm. Now at first, i didnt care for the website. Though this was due to my ignorance of it, and not really using it often, i didnt understand what was so exciting about just updating your status. After all, you can do that on Facebook, right? I've adapted well to twitter, and now i often "tweet" twenty to twenty-five times a day. With authentically verified celebrity pages, you can look into the lives of celebrities as well, often through pics and videos. So. After critizing a website due to ignorance, twitter has become a part of my daily routine, and anyone who isn't up on twitter should honestly give it chance. You may find a new addiction. http://twitter.com/

All Hail

On August 29th, 1958, a star was born. Little did the world know, music would never be the same. From teaming up with his brother at an unimaginable age of five, to dropping his first string of solo hits at 13, Michael Jackson was a potential icon from the moment he climbed out of the wound. The world may never again see a talent equivalent to the musical genius with the forever youthful voice that seemed to make even the most evil of evil, rise to their feet and dance. He had fans that spanned across the globe, and most of the worlds most popular artists today idolized him. His death shocked the globe, leaving many in shock and disbelief, and millions more heartbroken that the world would never experience another talent like Jackson. Michael is missed, and will be continued to be missed forever. His music will continue to play through the speakers, and his dance moved will always be imitated but never executed to perfection. So keep your memories, imitate until you heart has reached its desire, and keep his messages close, because the world will never again witness a Michael Joseph Jackson.

NFL 2009

Any one that knows me, knows that i LOVE football season. I can't wait until my Sundays are consumed by watching football, game after game, all day.

So here, im going to take a little time and share my thoughts of the 2009-2010 NFL season.

  • So you already know where I'm going to start. Brett Favre. What. The. Heck. This dude is trippin for real now. The comeback to the Jets was cool. Everyone was crunk to see if he still had it, if he could still play considering his age, how he would do in a new market, but this is getting rediculous. And he joined the Vikings AFTER he "claimed" that he was staying retired. Way to eff up chemistry. Just like an ESPN analyst said(I cant remember which one), "This is just a short term fix to a long term problem". If I were Tarvaris Jackson, i would be pissed. He was having enough trouble fighting for a starting position, now he has to fight for his job. Way to go, Brett.

  • Redemption. That should be the world plastered on the practice facility of the New England Patriots. I branded onto the chest of QB Tom Brady. When Brady went down the first game of the season, we all knew they weren't going to do much. Well, we were wrong. Matt Cassel held it down, like for real. But to be honest, with a Randy Moss on your left, and a Wes Welker on your right, i think I could hold it down. "(LOL)" Im not hating though, the kid got right. Im glad to see Cassel in Kansas City doing his own thing instead of backing up Brady for the rest of his career. But back to New England. I expect a big year from them, even though they aren't a personal favorite of mine. I mean when is the next time you expect to see a team go 11-5 and NOT make the playoffs. I think Brady goes ham while i talk shit about hoping he gets injured again. Superbowl? Not quite.

  • Pittsburg. I mess with the Steelers, especially since they won me $100 during the Super Bowl. I dont have much bad to say about them, they've got mad heart. Love the intensity on D. Thier biggest flaw is their very over rated (in my eyes) QB, Ben Roethlisberger. He is a decent QB, he just isn't consistant enough for my taste. But hey, thats not my team so what do i care? Superbowl repeat? Nah. I give it two more years.

  • Terrell Owens. I know you mad this dude got his own bullet, but i dont know much about the bills. If he can get through this toe injury, i see a good season for the kid. I dont personally care for him any more, since he left Philly, but the guy can ball, no doubt. So Individually: Good season for Terrell. Team Wise: Nothing out of the norm. TO gets let go at the end of the season and who knows where he will end up from there...So get your popcorn ready.

  • This guy used to be one of the best recievers in the game, until he, in his words, "took a season off". Chad "Ochocinco", which is shockingly legally correct, has a lot to prove this season. He said that he didn't care last season and his performance on the field have displayed that tremendously. So this year, i hope he plays like he cares, because the guy is an explosive player. Not to mention he is a great entertainer.

  • Drum Roll please....now for MY boys. The Philadelphia Eagles. Honestly, we should have an ok season. I still don't know how i feel about the whole Micheal Vick situation. But all the hate aside, he is a good addition to the team. We need a little versatilitly. Everyone already knows what we are going to do. I hope Coach Reid lightens up on the passing game, we have a strong running foundation and we need to utilize that. Westbrook should have a good season, Jackson should have a good season. We should have a good season. Superbowl? ehhh thats a stretch...

As for super bowl perdictions, that may have to wait a few weeks...

Procrastination is a SIN

In my eyes, Procrastination is the DEADLIEST of all sins. A sin that i practice very frequently, and more often than i may even realize. SN: On TOP of that, i think i have A>D>D because right after i finshed my last sentance, i went to facebook and started looking for somebody. So you guys see why it us really hard for me. But really, its time for me to be on my shit, because this is really getting old, and i cant take it anymore. So now i am making a public vow to be on top of my shit. Registration for Spring semester is November 2nd and believe i will be the first person in my advisor's office that morning. Its sad that it took several eviction notices from Aggie Suites to get me going. But i am here now, and i promise to do better. With school work, and everything. I will make super progress to not wait until the last minute to do everything.

This is my story, This is my song.

Update...

Man man man....things in my life are so up in the air right now. I just started a second job at Wal-mart. I'm a cashier, nothing too difficult. I hope everything goes well so i can save a little money between there and Steak Escape. I hope to buy my own car soon, thats one of my goals. Me and my boy Brandon have been talking about getting a place together, but I'm still not 100 percent on that one yet. I mean, it would be mad cool to be out of the wing of my parents...but i dont know. All of that depends on if I decide to go back to school. To be honest, i really don't want to go back to school right now. I don't think that it is for me. I like the college life, but I dont like the college work. It's so stressful, and I dont even think it should be all of that. But it is still to early to make my decision, I mean, it's only the beginning of the summer...

Things don't always work out like you plan them. You fall in love thinking that that person will always be there with you. Through the good times and the bad, the trials and the tribulations. Well guess what? That isn't always true. I fell in love thinking that I would never ever witness heartache or heartbreak. I was so in love with the fact of being in love that I forgot that not all that glitters is gold. I'm trying to let go, I really am, since she has seemed to have let go by leaps and bounds. It just isn't easy, because everytime I log on to facebook, i wind up on her page...or i find something in my room to remind me of her. I try to deny that I still love her, and I try to deny that I miss her...but...the truth is...
But I'm trying.

I can't wait until i get my Instinct S30. Im so tired of this busted up Rumor that I want to just throw it away. It's gotten to the point where i don't even turn my phone on anymore. Yeah its that bad. But July 1st is my day!!! Thank God for phone upgrades :-)

Well...I guess that's all. Untill next time :-D

You know a lot of girls be thinkin my blogs are about them...this is not to get confused...this one's for you.

Soooo....it's the middle of summer 2007. I had graduated from high school, looking forward to college, life was sweet.

Sometime in the middle of the summer, i got a message from this girl. I didnt pay them much attention, cause hey, i didnt even know the person, but i knew she was headed to A&T in the fall.
Haha little did I know...

So its the first day of college, im chillin, white hanes T wit some black basketball shorts on and flip flops walkin out of my six o clock class (ha i guess i never learned from this mistake, cause ive had one every semester now) with my new found friends. So we meet up with a bunch of other people, most who I had seen on facebook the summer before coming to A&T. But this one girl stood out. She was weird! Talkin to her self and stuff. She said that she had seen me in a class earlier that day, but didnt say anything.
Haha little did I know...

...THAT SHE WAS GONNA FOLLOW ME EVERYWHERE!!! To class. From class. To the caf. From the caf. It was cool though, its not like I had anyone else to hang out with, not like I had any other friends.

That was the beginning. It's funny how someone can go from a complete stranger to being the best friend you could ever ask for. She is always there for me, no matter what and no matter how much i don't want to hear it. She has always been by my side and I thank her for that. She has been my understanding shoulder to cry on. She has been the complete silence i needed on a dark cold night. She has been everything I have needed without having to ask for it and I thank her for that. We may not be exactly where she wants us to be, but im happy just were we are, and I love her to death for everything she has done for me. We have had our extreme ups and our deepest downs, but apparently nothing will tear us apart.

Now you can't ever say no one has written anything for you, sucka! :-p
Love ya kiddo.

Dig a little bit deeper....

Alright so...this is my first blog post, I've been meaning to start this for a while now, but guess what? I am a huge procastinator!! It's cool though...well...here goes nothing...

This is a very demanding world that we live in, to say the least. Some of us attend school. Some of us work full time trying to make it on our own. Some of us have our own little ones to take care of. Some of us do all of the above. With so much going on, it seems difficult just to calm down and be happy right? Wrong.

I hear so many people complain about how, "I'm never happy" or "I'm never going to be happy" or "I just want to be happy".

Well ma'am (or sir), what do you define as happiness?

"Well i just want someone to love---"
Pump ya brakes homegirl (or boy)

Since when does the recipe for happiness HAVE to include love? Are you telling me that you need someone to love you to be happy? You can't be happy by yourself? You don't know how to make YOURSELF happy, so you are depending on someone else to do it for you? (Even I'm not that lazy...)

Now i hope i haven't stepped on too many toes this early in my rookie blog, (Hell...who is even reading this lol) but happiness comes from within, my friend.

Meaning YOU have to look inside of YOURself to find what makes YOU happy. Its that simple.
What makes you happy?

Do fluffy pancakes make you happy? Well by-golly go make you some fluffy pancakes.

Does driving high speeds on the highway make you happy? Well be my guest. Just be careful dammit!

You like danceing? Well turn on your radio and dance your ass off!!!!

We get so caught up in material things and more often the want or thought of need of love by someone else, that we forget what deep down REALLY makes us happy.

Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with love, love is a very beautiful thing, and something that i have experienced and hope to experience in the future, however, you have to love yourself first, in order to love someone else effectively.

Is that a bit off topic? My bad, my mind likes to wander sometimes...

But please...I'm begging you...do something for yourself every once and a while. Take what other people think and throw it out of the window. Throw caution to the wind!!!

Have a picnic.
Play a game.
Read a book
Soak in a bubble bath
Go to coldstone and make the icecream you like, you know the one...the Cheesecake icecream with the strawberries, m&m's and white chocolate chips *yum*

And when you finish, if you can't smile and say "Damn, that was fun.",
Then i guess you need to dig a little bit deeper...
